Various types of metal rings are available for use in conditions of varying levels of corrosion. For dealing with Ultra High Vacuum there is the CF Vacuum fitting which comes with a metallic ring.
CF flanges more often than not use copper gaskets to make up the high pressure seal. They are of a flexible variety and can be interchanged in most of the circumstances. All the vacuum fittings from FG INOX such as the ISO KF, ISO K and CF vacuum fittings are versatile and can be easily assembled and taken apart. One important fact to keep in mind is to keep these fittings clean to prevent accumulation of dust particles and do not affect their overall performance levels. Absolutely tightly sealed levels can only be achieved if there are no foreign particles present anywhere in the vacuum fittings and perfect coupling is achieved between two parts with the help of an ISO vacuum fitting.
